How is International Cat Day celebrated?
All our cats need is love! On this day maybe you can adopt a new kitty from a shelter around you or just offer them some help around their cats. Most of the shelters take offerings (meal, toys, blankets) and usually they are grateful for these offerings – and not just on International Cat Day.
And of course don’t forget to spoil your own queen or king of the house. Maybe you can bake some meatballs or fish-based meal as a treat or just brush her/his fur to avoid swallowing too much hair.

In our family we have now only one cat lady, who is quite old with her 17 years. Our older cat has gone 2 years ago, she was 19 years old. Both of the cats were from shelters and they are exclusively in-house ones.
They were with us before the kids were born and we felt that they are like family: we want them to be part of our kids’ lives. Fortunately none of our children is allergic to cats, so we didn’t have the difficulty to sort this issue out.
How cats can help you in hard times
We are living in a world where viruses and war are on the news daily. The lockdown made our life more isolated than before and it is hard to not feel lonely or depressed. However our furry companions are always there for us to ease our isolation and loneliness.
In ancient times cats were worshipped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Researches show that living with a pet has uplifting effect to our mood and feelings. Also the caring we do toward another living being makes us happier and sets goals in our lives too.
